APPLICATION / PAPER MILL SLUDGE

Cationic Emulsion for Paper Mill Sludge Dewatering

Screen cationic emulsion for fiber, filler and biological paper-mill sludge using drainage, capture, cake release and dose evidence.

01+

Separate sludge sources

Primary fiber-rich sludge, deinking residuals, coating fillers and biological sludge do not present the same conditioning task. State the blend, ash, fiber fraction, total solids and any retention or coagulant chemistry entering the dewatering feed.

A sample from one production grade may not represent another. Keep furnish or production changes visible in the trial record.

02+

Protect cloth and filtrate quality

Fast initial drainage can be misleading if fines migrate through the belt or a compressible layer blinds the cloth. Observe filtrate solids, drainage length, cake release, wash pressure and throughput across the whole run.

Use small dose increments around the useful window. Both underdose and overdose can reduce capture and create unstable operation.

Compare delivered treatment cost

Normalize neat consumption to active polymer and dry sludge. Include disposal mass, lost fiber or solids, wash water, cycle time and operator interventions when comparing candidates.

Confirm package and transfer compatibility with the mill chemical area. The quality and packaging file lists the receiving information needed for repeat supply.
